Built around longer bookings
Marliven rents one Moskvich 5 out of Salford, and most of our bookings run a week or more. That is not an accident. A day of hire covers a lot of administration for very little driving, so we priced the longer end properly instead of treating it as a discount on a daily rate.
Short term rental is still available and there is no minimum beyond a single day. But if you are between cars, working a contract in Manchester for a month, or waiting on a repair, the weekly and monthly figures are the ones worth looking at. Cheap Moskvich 5 hire, in our experience, is almost always a question of length rather than of cutting cover out of the price.
The car itself is a compact five-door crossover: 1.5-litre turbo petrol, CVT automatic, front-wheel drive, five seats. It is self drive only and delivered free anywhere inside the M60, which covers Salford and most of Greater Manchester.

Every Moskvich 5 is turbocharged; there is no naturally aspirated version to choose between. Underneath it is a JAC Sehol X6, which is why the mechanical side is more ordinary than the badge suggests.

Questions about longer hires
- What counts as long term hire?
- Anything past three months, which we quote individually rather than multiplying the monthly rate. Below that the published table applies.
- Who pays for servicing on a monthly booking?
- We do. Servicing, MOT, tyres and any mechanical work stay with us throughout. You cover fuel and any damage beyond fair wear.
- Can I extend part-way through?
- Yes, and it is usually just a phone call. Tell us before the last few days so we can keep the diary honest with anyone else asking.
- Is there a mileage problem on a long booking?
- 3,000 miles a month suits most people. If you know you drive more, say so up front and we will price the allowance in rather than bill you 18p a mile afterwards.
- Do you do daily hire near Salford as well?
- We do, and there is no minimum. It is simply not where the pricing is strongest.
- Is it self drive?
- Yes, self drive car rental only. We do not supply a driver.
